A little blog love goes a long way

HeartsIt’s the beginning of February – the month of love.  Everywhere I go, I am surrounded by red and pink hearts, cards, balloons, flowers, and stuffed animals that remind me Valentine’s Day is coming.  And apparently, how I show my love for those closest to me is by purchasing them a selection of this useless crap.  Yep, I said it.  Useless crap.

Instead of wasting money on this type of stuff, I am going to take a little more of a creative approach.  And I’m not going to save it all up for the 14th, but will instead try to do something the things I love each and every day.  Including myself, and my blog.  Personally, I’ve been way too focused on the unimportant and petty.  I’d like to get back to reminding those I love that I really appreciate them every day.  And reminding myself that I am worth taking time for things that will make me a better woman, partner and mother.

One way I am showing my blog some love this month is participating in February’s National Blog Posting Month.  Otherwise known as “NaBloPoMo”.  Here’s the link if you are interested in joining:  http://www.blogher.com/nablopomo-february-2013-blogroll

Make sure you sign up if you are planning to do it.  Then you can grab the cool badge at the end of the month and brag about it.  Bonus:  there’s only 28 days this month, instead of the usual 30 or 31!

I did my first #NaBloPoMo this past November, and it was definitely a challenge.  There were days that it was 11:30 before I got my post up for the day.  But I stuck with it EVERY SINGLE DAY.  The pride that I felt when the last day of November rolled around and I had completed it was fantastic.  I learned a ton, vlogged for the first time, and fell in love with my blog again.

I urge you to join me and show your blog some love in February!

  1. can’t wait to read how February shakes out! This is my third NaBloPoMo (Oct & Nov 2012), and I’m excited to be back in a smaller group. I loved October, but was so so overwhelmed with November, and never got a chance to catch up on everyone else’s lives.

  2. What an awesome idea! My blog could certainly use some sprucing, anyway. I cut out a ton of silly hearts to prank my husband’s office, tomorrow. He’s having a rough time. Hopefully it will give him a smile.

    Thanks for sharing!
