Tuesday morning, I had the privilege to appear on the LIVE! With Momma Cuisine Talk Show. Momma Cuisine (aka the fabulous Johanna Cook) wanted to add a pop culture segment to her show, and I was her pop-culture-goddess of choice for the first edition of “The Scoop”. What a great experience! As a fan and supporter of Johanna and #MCShowLIVE, I am well aware of the hard work and dedication that goes in to putting together a live show that broadcasts once a month. But what I didn’t realize is how nerve-racking it is to be IN FRONT of the camera! Johanna is so good at what she does that she makes it look so effortless – and she made me feel at ease the entire time. It helps that we are friends and do have a good chemistry too!
We selected topics that we wanted to talk about, and Johanna decided that not only was I going to be the opening segment but that we were going to SKIP REHEARSAL. Yes, no rehearsal. I am not a seasoned television professional that used to being interviewed or even speaking in coherent sentences in front of the camera. So the fact that we were flying without a rehearsal had me a little jittery. Do you remember the infamous flop-sweat scene in “Broadcast News“??
While I was nowhere near that insane with nerves, there were definitely butterflies in my stomach.
Here is Johanna and I before the start of the show:
In the end, I felt like our segment went off without a hitch. The entire show was filled with strong, entrepreneurial women of all ages. In case you missed it, you can catch it on YouTube:
I’d love to know what you think!
